About me

I  began working in mental health on leaving University after completing my BSc Psychology. I have experience of working with learning disabilities, women detained under the mental health act in a low secure unit and adults in primary care mental health.

Since completing my Diploma in CBT in 2009, I have been working as a fully qualified and accredited CBT therapist in the Leeds Wellbeing Service (previously known as IAPT – Improving Access to Psychological Therapies service).

In addition to my clinical work, I am also the service lead in clinical risk, and I am responsible for the guideline for how the service supports clients and clinicians to manage safety and risk in relation to mental health (e.g. suicide and self harm), and I lead on developing and delivering the training package for all clinical staff in the service.

I am Secretary for the local West Yorkshire BABCP Branch; supporting the Branch to develop and deliver further training opportunities for our CBT community. This supports clinicians across the region to stay up to date with good practice and new approaches, and maintain their accreditation.

I have accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP). I have professional indemnity insurance with Balens and I am a registered and authorised psychotherapist with AXA PPP and Aviva.
