What to expect

You may have had some form of psychotherapy or talking therapy before, or this may be the first time you are thinking about doing this, either way it’s important you understand both how CBT tends to be, but also how I work as an individual therapist.

Helpful things to know about CBT:

  • The focus is usually on making changes in the ‘here and now’
  • It works best when you are willing to make changes both in and between sessions
  • It is more of a structured therapy meaning we tend to use agendas for the session and are mindful of staying focused on what we agreed as most important for you at the outset
  • Having a go at doing things differently can feel frightening and uncomfortable, but I will work alongside you, at your pace, to ensure you find some meaningful progress

CBT with Hannah

I currently work remotely, this means I use either telephone or video platforms (such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, to be agreed mutually) for all clinical work. I understand that this can feel unfamiliar for some people, however I have found that this has many more positives than negatives for the vast majority of people and isn’t as scary as it sounds! I am more than happy to help those less confident with technology.

One of the benefits to working remotely is that I am able to work with anyone in the UK, however I am based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, and serve the Wetherby, York, Leeds & Harrogate area.

I offer appointments on a Monday between usual working hours, I am unable to offer evening appointments at this time.

I currently charge £80 per hour.

I am a registered therapist with AXA PPP, BUPA and Aviva, please contact me to discuss.
